Whether you’re struggling with a seemingly intractable problem in your business, need extra capacity for a big project, or just want some additional horsepower on a part-time basis, I can help. I offer:
Coaching: Recurring or one-time sessions to help you break through barriers, focus on what matters, and deal with stress and overwhelm. Nothing woo-woo; I am not a spiritual or “life” coach. I am a sounding board, accountability partner, and advisor who has been in your shoes.
Consulting: Project-based work to move your business forward. This is not “strategy consulting.” I do tactical, tangible work on a range of topics including launching new products, services, or locations; pricing and promotion; selecting and implementing new technology; and designing or restructuring business processes.
Fractional CXO: Executive-level leadership to bridge a gap. If you need some extra hands, but don’t have the budget or workload for another full-time hire, I can augment your leadership team in a part-time capacity.

About Me
My name is Dave Lewis.
I am a military veteran, entrepreneur, and investor based in Arvada, Colorado, conveniently located between Denver and Boulder. I have over 15 years of experience leading teams, improving operational performance, and bringing new products and services to market.
I grew up in Northern Virginia and attended the University of Virginia (Go Hoos!), where I was a Distinguished Military Graduate of UVA’s Army ROTC program. I served four years on active duty as an Infantry Officer, leading a team of 35 soldiers during a combat deployment to Afghanistan, and serving as the Aide-de-Camp (Chief of Staff equivalent) to the Deputy Commanding Generals of the 10th Mountain Division. After the Army, I earned my MBA from The University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, then spent two years in management consulting at The Boston Consulting Group. I then transitioned to the technology industry, working in product management and marketing roles at Square and Amazon.com.
I embarked on my entrepreneurial journey in 2020. After a seven month search, I partnered with a Denver-based investment firm to acquire The Gas Connection, Colorado’s leading provider of gas line installation and repair services. For two and a half years as CEO, I managed all facets of the business, oversaw an orderly succession from the outgoing owners, professionalized systems and processes, and eventually transitioned the day-to-day operations to a General Manager.
Today, I still co-own and advise The Gas Connection, while also investing, coaching, and consulting for other small businesses and SMB acquirers. I hope to leverage my own experience navigating the ups and downs of small business ownership and operations to help others survive and thrive in the challenging but rewarding world of buying and running small companies.
